Democrat Barack Obama spent nearly twice as much as rival Hillary Clinton on media advertising in Ohio ($4.4 million versus $2.3 million), The New York Times reports, citing an analysis by the Wisconsin Advertising Project. Fifteen percent of the total spending came from such independent-expenditure groups as the pro-Clinton American Leadership Project.

Democrat Barack Obama put more money into television advertising last year than Hillary Clinton, The Politico, a Washington-based political newspaper, reports. Obama’s campaign spent $31 million on TV advertising out of $83.4 million in total spending, Clinton’s $24.6 million out of $77 million.
