“Trust Huckabee,” which describes itself as “a grassroots independent organization,” owns up to automated push polls that hit Republicans Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, and Fred Thompson last night in Iowa, according to The Politico, a Washington-based political newspaper. Patrick Davis, who runs the organization, says that it has no affiliation with Republican Mike Huckabee’s campaign, although at least one Huckabee donor, Harold “Zeke” Smith, is involved.

Republican Mike Huckabee’s campaign is withdrawing $60,000 from its recently fattened war chest for its first television ad buy, according to MSNBC’s First Read column. The ad will begin airing next week in Iowa.

With Love Comes Money

The Huckabee campaign raised more than $1 million online in the month of October, reports ABC News. As Mike Huckabee, the former Republican governor of Arkansas, has seen a recent surge in poll numbers, his campaign set an ambitious online fundraising goal to exceed $1,034,487 — its website’s intake for the entire third quarter. As of today, it had topped that number by nearly $30,000.
