Democrat Barack Obama is taking heat after two independent groups based in California, PowerPAC and Vote Hope, joined forces to spend money on his behalf, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Obama, who has urged supporters to donate directly to his campaign rather than to such groups, recently criticized John Edwards for accepting similar help.
