Nine thousand Iowa Democrats hear six rivals for the party’s presidential nomination pitch their candidacies at the high-stakes Jefferson Jackson Dinner, an event that derailed Bill Bradley in 2000 and heralded John Kerry’s comeback in 2004. Supporters of Barack Obama fill nearly a third of the seats at the dinner.
