Asked in the GOP presidential debate how much of his own money he’s spent on his campaign in Florida, Republican Mitt Romney declines to answer, saying that to disclose the figure would give the other campaigns an advantage.
“I am by far the biggest contributor to my own campaign,” Romney said. “There’s no one who can call me and say, ‘You owe me.’”
A senior aide to Romney told The Wall Street Journal that his boss was prepared to spend $40 million of his own money on his presidential bid.
