Republican John McCain holds the biggest fundraiser of his career, projected to raise about $7 million for his campaign, The Washington Post reports. The New York event is a joint fundraising effort with the Republican National Committee and several state committees, allowing McCain to accept as much as $70,000 from each guest. In attendance: investment banker Lewis M. Eisenberg, Senator Joseph Lieberman, and “special guest” former rival Rudy Giuliani.
