Million-Dollar Disadvantage

As the cost of the 2008 campaign heads to $1 billion, Congress is considering a “millionaire’s amendment” toward presidential campaign finance reform, The Hill reported. The amendment would level the playing field between less wealthy politicians and millionaire candidates such as Republican Mitt Romney, who is worth an estimated $200 million and has already funneled $17.5 million into his campaign. A similar amendment has been applied to Senate races.
