Regrouping

After lackluster fundraising in the first quarter of 2008, Campaign to Defend America, a Democratic-leaning 501(c)(4) group, is pledging to raise $40 million under its new head, David Brock, the founder of Media Matters, Politico reports.
The group, which produced the first independent ad to hit Republican John McCain, will reincorporate under the name Progressive Media USA and will be linked to a new 527 group, Progressive Media Action.
