The $50 Million Delegate
BY | February 01, 2008
Republican Rudy Giuliani’s campaign spent $48.8 million in 2007 yet earned only one delegate, the Los Angeles Times reports. This moves him ahead of Republican John Connally as the candidate with the worst bang-for-the-buck ever. (Connally, after spending $11 million in his bid for the 1980 GOP presidential nomination, had secured the support of only a single delegate, Mrs. Ada Mills of Arkansas, who became known as the “$11 million delegate.”)
