Cynthia McKinney - Green
Cynthia McKinney, now of the Green Party, represented Georgia as a Democrat in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1993 to 2003 and from 2005 to 2007. She was defeated in the Democratic primaries in her 2002 and 2006 reelection bids. Before serving the U.S. House, McKinney was a member of the Georgia State House for four years. She was also previously a college professor.
Presidential Campaign
After joining the Green Party in 2007, McKinney officially announced her candidacy via a YouTube video released on December 16, 2007. She secured the Green Party nomination at their convention in Chicago on July 12, 2008.
