Duncan Hunter - Republican

Duncan Hunter, a Republican, is a U.S. representative from California. Before running for Congress, Hunter practiced law in San Diego. He is a Vietnam veteran (173rd Airborne and 75th Army Rangers divisions) and received his law degree on the G.I. Bill. His wife, Lynne, is a homemaker.

Committee Assignments

Hunter is the ranking Republican member of the Committee on Armed Services.

Presidential Campaign

Hunter announced the formation of an exploratory committee on October 30, 2006, and on January 25, 2007, declared his candidacy at a rally in South Carolina. He ended his campaign on January 20, 2008.
